Understanding cancellations in the National Passport Stamp book.
Cancellations in the National Passport Stamp Book are straightforward yet essential for national park visits. Here's what you need to know:
What Is a Cancellation?
A cancellation is a rubber ink stamp, much like a passport stamp. It records the national park's name and the date of your visit. The parks have a stamp with that day's date ready to go.
Where to Get Them.
They are usually available at visitor centers or designated stamping stations within National Parks.
Cost
Cancellations are free to collect. The book and stamps are not. We will get to that in the next section.

The Process
Bring your Passport Stamp Book to the stamping station when you visit a national park. They are typically located in the Park Gift Store. If you have not already purchased your sticker for the park, the park gift store should have them. Place the sticker in the designated area in the book, the black outlined square (see above picture). In the picture above, the left side is incorrect. I was supposed to put the sticker below in the box and stamp it on top. The right side, Grand Teton National Park, is the correct way. Stamp the cancellation directly over the park's sticker in your book. That is canceling that park, as you have seen and done it. And that is the cancellation process.
