Navigating the costs of skiing in Park City.

Concerns about the cost are common for anyone planning a ski trip. While skiing in Park City, like most renowned resorts, can involve some expenses, it's also packed with opportunities to make your trip affordable. Making skiing in Park City more affordable involves a few savvy strategies. Let's dive into how you can enjoy the slopes without breaking the bank. These are ways that we used for savings.

  1. Food is a costly expense in Park City: There are two grocery stores in town. We recommend Whole Foods. Shop or have them delivered for $10(prime member). Pack food for the day and hydration. Choose evenings to dine out, but limiting dining out will always give you savings. We packed snacks in our ski jackets.

Pro tip: Fresh Market is crazy expensive. The prices blew me away. Your best bet is Whole Foods.

  2. Housing: Where you stay depends on your budget and how close you want to be to the lifts. Salt Lake City is only about 30 minutes from Park City. We found a good deal through AirBnB. Downtown Park City will be very expensive, but it would be the best place to stay as you can take the Town Lift and ski back downtown.

  3. Car rental: We used Turo for the first time, and it worked out great. Turo tends to be cheaper than the big box brands, and getting to your car is also less of a hassle. This is an O.G. recommendation.

  4. Lift Tickets: With $299 per day lift ticket prices, Epic Pass is the way to go if you plan skiing for over a few days at $982 in 2024. You get 20% off of food and a few other perks. It pays for itself in 5 days of lift tickets. You can also shop for deals through getskitickets.com.

All in all, you can shave cost down by not eating out everyday, looking at ski lift ticket options, and putting some time in finding the right place for your stay.

Park City is great for all levels especially beginners.

Park City is so big, with 7,300 acres of skiable terrain and over 300 trails. No matter what level you are at, you will find your sweet spot. I just started skiing last year. Last year, I was all greens, and now I ski primarily in blues.

For Beginners: Park City has this great beginner area unlike any I have seen, with different terrain you might see on the mountain but at a beginner level. It is on the Canyons side and called High Meadow Park. Take the Meadow Lift, and you will have different options.

For Intermediate: There are many options for you blue skiers. On the Canyon side, we loved all the runs off of Saddleback Express. Be careful, as some are groomed and some are not.

For Advanced: Park City is your playground.
