Early Life of Jimmy Carter in Plains, Georgia.

Jimmy Carter was born on October 1, 1924, in the small town of Plains, Georgia. He grew up on a peanut farm, the second of four children. His family was hardworking and instilled in him strong values of honesty, integrity, and a deep sense of community.

As a child, Jimmy Carter was known for his keen intellect and strong work ethic. He attended the Plains High School and stood out as a dedicated student. His passion for reading and learning was evident early on, and he showed an aptitude for leadership.

One of the most influential figures in young Jimmy's life was his father, James Earl Carter Sr., a prominent figure in the community and a respected farmer. His mother, Lillian Gordy Carter, was a registered nurse and a progressive thinker who instilled in him a sense of compassion and empathy for others.

Growing up in rural Georgia, Carter developed a deep connection to the land and a respect for the hardworking farmers who were the backbone of his community. These formative years would later shape his political philosophy and commitment to agricultural reform and rural development.
